Please take this review with a grain of salt as it is my first venture into home brewing beer.  Over all, the kit is extremely simple to use.  Obviously a kit like this is designed to wet your tongue to get starting into brewing.  As I received this as a gift, cost was nil.   There are some components lacking in design, the fermentor does not have an airlock.  The fermentor uses vertical grooves on top of the area where the lid screws on to vent gasses.  The yeast must have been old, it worked for a very short time, then stopped.  Directions with the kit say to pitch the yeast at 105 degrees, may be too hot???
I added a pack of yeast purchased at Homebrew 4 Less, with this addition, the yeast worked for 4 days before slowing down.   I bottled the beer using a spoonful of white sugar as directed by kit instructions.   I took no readings or measurements.  I did sample a shot of the flat beer, a nice pale ale.   Sampled a bottle at one week, good carbonation, foamy white head on the beer.  A very smooth beer!!
While the kit is lacking somewhat, with the addition of fresh yeast it was a very enjoyable experiment!  I will be purchasing a better setup!

I did  more sampling, this time with victims!  Consensus was good flavor, just a bit sweeter than bitter.  A nice smooth Pale Ale.  It should have a tiny bit more hops, but overall a good brew.  A nice creamy white head, good carbonation and a bit of chill haze.
I have another MrBeer refill to use, more on that later.

Killed the rest of the 1 ltr pet bottles of this brew.  At this tasting the hops nose and tongue became apparent.  This is pretty darned good brew.  I would be quite happy to make this in an all grain brew!  I'm starting the Witty Monk refill pack in the morning!
